Day 25

19/11/2024 - Tuesday

Saint Fatima - Heliopolis - Cairo

I woke up by 9 am to have a nice, and slow morning. Since the beginning of the CIFF, I am struggling to find a nice time to eat, to take care of myself, or to meditate. The whole days of the festival are the same sequence: waking up, having a shower, cup of tea, morning skincare, going to the festival, returning home, working on writing the coverage, updating NJ, and my mom, late jung food dinner, and sleeping. I tried to make a balance but I failed. And, I lost my interest in my MA. yeah, I need to admit that instead of pretending that everything is good. The Big Melt is a Big Challenge, and the comments I receive have no ounce of motivation. You need to do more, there is a lot to do, you are still lower than the levels of MA writing. I gave up, every time I looked at those papers, drafts, and novels, I felt that I wanted to escape to bed and bury myself under my blanket.

God, guide me....

Regarding the day, it was full more than anyone can expect. I went to the Opera to catch the press conference of the Egyptian film "Spring Came Laughing" then moved to Al Zamalek Cinema to meet Sera, and catch "Radya" film together before returning to Opera. Sera moved to Simon of the Mountain film, while I attended the Masterclass with Tanovic, and attended "Back to Alexandria" film. I met my friends at the screening, and had nice chats with the director and the actors. The film was great. I was surprised to hear such names like Nadine Labki, and Marianne Khoury involved in the film. It was the best thing to watch.

I returned home, and did nothing. Just sleeeeeeep. I didn't write anything. No..sleeeeeeeping.

Rate of the day: 6/10
